John E. Wiessner (Jay Dubya), Owner at Jay Dubya Books, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in English instruction and entrepreneurship.
Over the course of 50 years, Mr. Wiessner has flourished as an educator, author and entrepreneur. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rowan University, formerly Glassboro State College, in New Jersey in 1970 and provided superior education as an English teacher in the Hammonton Public Schools for more than 30 years from 1965 through his 1999 retirement. Mr. Wiessner additionally served in a number of capacities for the Hammonton Education Association such as building representative, as the teachers’ head negotiator, and vice president.
Mr. Weissner, writing under his pen name Jay Dubya, is a prolific author with more than 50 titles to his credit in a wide variety of genres and styles that include a young adult fantasy trilogy, numerous satirical parodies of classic pieces of literature, and a host of short stories and novellas inspired by his passions for science fiction and paranormal themes. He oversees the Jay Dubya books imprint distributed by Bookstand Publishing, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Ingram Industries.
Mr. Weissner has also made a mark as an entrepreneur, owning and operating Dealers Choice Amusement Arcade in Ocean City, Maryland from 1967 to 1981, New Horizon Gift Shop in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware from 1972 to 1981 and Wheel and Deal Amusement Games Arcade on the Atlantic City Boardwalk from 1978 to 1981. A keen participant in community affairs, he is the former president of the Hammonton Lions Club and was celebrated as the Hammonton Lion of the Year in 1979. In 2009, he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, which is among the most prestigious honors within Lions Club International. He attributes his success to his strong work ethic and his need to help others.
