Mr. Walter grew up on his family’s cattle ranch near Thatcher, Colorado and developed a passion for agriculture early on in his life, serving as an officer in 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA). He excelled as a food preparer and catering employee with the Colorado State University Department of Animal Sciences and a human resources intern with JBS Foods from 2017 to 2018. Mr. Walter obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in agricultural education from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 2019, and during his undergraduate years, he was recruited as assistant director for chapter development and education and a leadership consultant with the FarmHouse International Fraternity and Foundation.
Since 2020, Mr. Walter has excelled as an agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor with West Grand High School. His specialties include imparting trade skills such as welding, plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, carpentry as well as greenhouse work, food handling, supervised agriculture experiences and practical skills such as how to produce a monthly budget. In addition, he is actively involved in several state programs focused on developing mental health resources and performing research and data driven initiatives to assist all individuals struggling with mental health and addiction.
Mr. Walter’s memberships include the Colorado Farm Bureau, Colorado Vocational of Agriculture Teachers Association and the National Association of Agricultural Educators. He holds a Colorado state license in agriculture, food, and natural resources specialization and is certified in career and technical education. In coming years, Mr. Walter intends to obtain a master’s degree and a doctorate focusing on mental health, behavioral science and education.
