Cathleen Miller, Associate Professor of Accounting at University of Michigan-Flint, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accounting instruction.
Since 1998, Dr. Miller has provided superior service as an associate professor of accounting at the University of Michigan-Flint, with which she established a Master of Accountancy scholarship in 2013. Her memberships include the American Accounting Association, the Michigan Certified Public Accountancy Organization and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Having harbored an interest in accountancy since her youth, she excelled in the private sector with Coopers & Lybrand, now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Dr. Miller thereupon obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in accounting from the University of Kentucky.
In addition to her teaching career, Dr. Miller has co-published numerous learned articles in publications such as Behavioral Research in Accounting, the Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, the Managerial Auditing Journal and Ethics, Equity, and Regulation. She attributes her success to hard work and her connections with people that have included several co-authors with whom she writes. Dr. Miller considers her career highlight to be her reception of a Service Award from the Internal Revenue Service for her work in a volunteer income tax assistance program.
