Cherri L. Hall, special education teacher at G.W. Carver Elementary School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in special education.
For nearly 30 years, Ms. Hall has worked with students with special educational needs one-on-one and in classroom settings to support academic, social, and life skills learning. Passionate about teaching since childhood, she began her career as a teacher’s assistant in a local school, where she discovered her talent for working with special-needs students. Ms. Hall additionally earned a Bachelor of Science in special education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998, to which she returned to obtain a Master of Arts in elementary education in 2011.
Currently, Ms. Hall is a special education teacher and basketball coach at G.W. Carver Elementary School, where she focuses on supporting children who do not yet meet grade-level academic benchmarks. At G.W. Carver Elementary School, she runs a special education resource group that supplements in-classroom instruction with appropriate interventions to help students develop functional and academic skills. In recognition of her work, she has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year and was the recipient of a teacher organization’s Member of the Year Award. Outside her primary work in the classroom, she tutors children in her community and supports the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Ms. Hall is an active member of the National Education Association and the Mississippi Association of Educators.
