The holder of a master’s degree in education administration, Mr. Fryer excelled as superintendent with the Solen School District in Sioux County before his tenure at Lisbon. He received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the Southwest North Dakota Superintendent of the Year Award and the North Dakota State Superintendent of the Year Award in 2020. He is especially proud of his work with the Solen School District on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, writing a grant that enabled the reservation to acquire $5.5 million they used to build a new school that replaced an 80-year-old facility.
Attributing his success to his ability to organize and be a good communicator, Mr. Fryer cites quality mentors who passed on valuable knowledge as he progressed in his career path from teacher and instructional coach to principal and superintendent. He hopes to help further develop the Lisbon Public School District 19, promoting 21st century learning and critical thinking skills to prepare students for a fast-changing world that is increasingly shifting to online applications.
