Nick Sorrell, Baseball Head Coach at Pocatello American Legion AA Baseball, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in coaching.

A devoted educator and coach, Mr. Sorrell has excelled in teaching courses in business technology, computers, insurance and personal finance at Highland High School since 2010. Likewise, he has also served the school as a football coach since 2003 and as a baseball coach for 10 years. To add to his responsibilities, Mr. Sorrell was recruited as the head baseball coach for the Pocatello American Legion Baseball in 2018. Dedicated to the overall success of the program, in his role, Mr. Sorrell supervises several coaches beneath him who help develop athletes throughout the program. He additionally maintains membership with the American Baseball Coaches Association and the Idaho Business Education Association.

Finding great success in his endeavors, Mr. Sorrell won the baseball state title for Idaho in 2020, which was noted as the first Pocatello win since 1986 and the first championship under his leadership as head coach. He was also celebrated for leading two state-titled football teams as defensive coordinator at his high school from 2014 to 2017. Additionally, Mr. Sorrell was recognized in the Top 30 Under 30 by Idaho State Journal in 2015. Attributing his success to the relationships he has established with his players and students, he hopes to continue thriving in his coaching career, and even one day move up into the college coaching ranks. At the start of his career journey, Mr. Sorrell matriculated at Idaho State University, where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts in business management in 2007 and a Bachelor of Science in secondary education in 2010.
