Otoniel Suarez, Jr., senior darkroom technician at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medical photography.
With a lifelong passion for photography, Mr. Suarez has dedicated his career to using his skills to benefit those in need. As a senior darkroom technician at Albert Einstein Medical Center, his main responsibilities included processing x-rays and distributing them to providers. Additionally, he is the founder of the Health and Safety Committee and the chair of the hospital’s Grievance and Job Committees. Over the course of his career, he has found additional success as a deputy sheriff in Putman County, Georgia, a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, and a computer instructor for the 1199 SEIU Training and Upgrading Fund. Supplementing his professional career, he contributed his expertise as a drafter to TF Jackson and worked on Tower 49 in the 1980s.
Mr. Suarez obtained a Certificate in Architectural Drafting in 1976 and completed Peace Officer Standards and Training after completion of service with the United States Army in 1979, which saw him deployed to Hawaii. For his contributions in the field, he is honored to have been displayed in the Recovery Handbook, honored by the president of the Vocational and Industrial Clubs of America of Parliamentary Procedure at the Opening/Closing Ceremonies and presented with the First Place Award by the New York City Hospital Corporation. Furthermore, as a lifelong Eagle Scout, he is proud to have been promoted as a senior patrol leader. In this role, he is gratified to have been presented with 30 Merit Badges and the Eagle Scout Medal. Though he is now retired, he continues to take pictures for enjoyment.
