Lynn Eckrote, EdD, MPAS, PA-C, Founding Program Director at Elizabethtown College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in physician assistant studies.
A health care professional of more than a decade, Dr. Eckrote got her start upon earning a Bachelor of Science in biology from Pennsylvania State University in 2001 and a Master in Physical Assistant Studies from King’s College in 2004. Later, in 2019, she attained a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from the University of New England. In the early years of Dr. Eckrote’s career, she served as a physician assistant to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs from 2008 to 2014 and at Northeast Counseling from 2013 to 2014. From there, she served First Hospital as a physician assistant and joined the Pennsylvania College of Technology as a clinical director in 2014, going on to be promoted to interim director and eventually director from 2015 through 2018.
Today, Dr. Eckrote excels as the founding program director of the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Elizabethtown College, a role she commenced in 2018. Since creating the program from scratch, they are now in the process of provisional accreditation. With this sentiment, she attributes her professional success thus far to the support of her family and fantastic mentors, along with her own motivation and drive. To remain abreast of her industry, Dr. Eckrote maintains professional affiliation with the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, Physician Assistant Education Association and Pennsylvania Women Leaders Association. She has also served on the board of directors of the Housing Development Corporation.
