Valeska L. James, Teacher at Hillsborough County Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of education.
Ms. James has been a classroom teacher for Hillsborough County Schools since 1999. For more than two decades, she has focused on teaching first grade, emphasizing early literacy and writing skills, mathematics, and science. The district serves students from a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds, and Ms. James is proud to develop teaching strategies that connect with each child’s unique educational needs, explaining that “seeing the smiles of recognition” on her students’ faces is the highlight of the job.
Ms. James initially became involved in her profession due to the influence of her parents, both of whom are retired teachers. She completed a bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Tampa in 1999 after maintaining membership in the National Teachers Honor Society throughout her studies. Ms. James is certified to teach elementary education for grades one through six in the state of Florida.
She credits her success to her passion for what she does, as well as the guidance she received from her parents. Looking toward the future, Ms. James hopes to be nominated as the Teacher of the Year by her district.
