Mary L. Krenek, Substitute Teacher at El Campo Independent School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary and secondary education.
With a love for children and education, Ms. Krenek desired to spearhead her career as an educator to implant knowledge to the younger generation. From watching her mother teach religion and having numerous other role models, she set her sights on becoming an educator early in her life. Prior to spearheading her career, Ms. Krenek earned an Associate of Arts from Wharton County Junior College in 1972 and a Bachelor of Science from Texas Agricultural and Industrial University in 1974. In addition, she achieved a Master of Arts in political science from St. Mary’s University in 1992 and a Czech Language Certificate from Charles University in 1994. Notably, Ms. Krenek served in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant and U.S. Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel between 1975 and 2003, until her retirement.
Ms. Krenek took on her first professional role as a polygraph examiner in San Antonio, Texas from 1979 and 1981 and a teacher for the San Antonio Independent School District from 1981 to 1982 before becoming the owner of Mary Louise Krenek Enterprises and Historical Research Company. The next year, she also served as an independent contractor and political and social researcher in San Antonio, roles in which she continues to excel. Between 1997 and 2002, she was an instructor of government studies at Wharton County Junior College, a teacher at the Houston Independent School District and a Houston associate at the JC Penny Company Inc. In addition, Ms. Krenek has been a substitute teacher for the El Campo Independent School District since 2011, as well as for the Wharton Independent School District and Houston Independent School District. To remain abreast of her industry, she continues to maintain membership with the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, American Political Science Association, Retired Military Police Officers Association, Reserve Officers Association and more. To attest to her legacy, Ms. Krenek is also listed in editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Politics, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
