With a lifelong love for teaching and literature, Ms. Montanari knew her calling was to pursue a career as an English educator. She initially obtained a master’s degree in English prior to earning a master’s degree in writing and literature. For nearly 25 years thereafter, she enriched the lives of her students at Woodbridge Senior High School through the instruction of advanced placement English and senior English classes. Additionally, she actively contributed as an officer of the Women’s Club and as the vice president and the teachers’ officer of the Political Club. Throughout her career, Ms. Montanari has found notable success as a professor at Northern Virginia Community College and at Strayer University.

In addition to her primary professional endeavors, Ms. Montanari is gratified to share her writing skills with the world as a published writer, a blogger, a magazine contributing editor and a newspaper columnist for the Potomac News. Her notable pieces include “Finding God Under the Bed,” “Inspired Writings by Lorraine Marie,” “Shakespeare’s Take on 2020” and “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.” For her achievements in the field, she was selected for inclusion within Who’s Who Among American Teachers on four separate occasions. Furthermore, she is honored to have been voted the commencement speaker in 2008. Though she is retired, Ms. Montanari remains active as a community educator on Bible instruction at her local church.
