Laura Rodley, teacher of the As You Write It Memoir Class, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in literature and education.
Writing her first book at 9 years old, Ms. Rodley has always been interested in pursuing a career as a writer. Carrying her passion with her, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Norwich University in 1997. Before establishing herself as an instructor herself, she completed a multitude of writing courses taught by memoir writer Genie Zeiger. Supplementing her professional career, she has maintained professional affiliations with the Wild Women’s Writers Group. The Lilly Live Writing Group and the Arizona State Poetry Society.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Rodley is proud to have edited and published seven collections featuring memoirs from fellow writers under the “As You Write It” title. With the volumes combined to form “As You Write It: A Franklin County Anthology Volumes I-VI,” and “As You Write It: Lucky 7,” she has accolades including a Massachusetts Book Award nomination. Moreover, her poetry chapter books “Rappelling Blue Light” and “Your Left Front Wheel Is Coming Loose” were both nominated for Massachusetts Book Awards with the latter additionally nominated a PEN New England Award. Additionally, she is honored to have been the recipient of several grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council as well as the Pushcart Prize, awarded to significant titles released by independent publishers. As a celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Rodley has been featured in the 2002 and 2003 editions of Who’s Who in America, as well as the 2002, 2006, and 2008 editions of Who’s Who in American Women.
