Ms. Katz started on her career path by first earning a Bachelor of Arts from the New College USF in 1976. She subsequently received a Master of Science from Bank Street College of Education in 1978. Upon the completion of her degrees, Ms. Katz became certified in early childhood and special education, and later as an Educational Therapist professional by the Association of Educational Therapists.
Ms. Katz began her career in 1978 as a teacher and therapist at the Infant Care Center of the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, where she remained until 1981. Following this period, she served as a specialist and language arts coordinator at Fieldston Lower School from 1982 to 2007. Ms. Katz has found success as a private learning specialist and educational therapist in New York City and East Hampton, New York, since 1980.
As a testament to her success, Ms. Katz received multiple grants for educational studies from the Fieldston Schools between 1988 and 1995. She published several papers on learning and development, including co-authorship of “On the Concept of Mourning in Childhood” in the Psychoanalytic Study of the Child, 1986. Ms. Katz was also listed in the 20th and 24th editions of Who’s Who of American Women.
