Daniel S. Brown, PhD, independent scholar and researcher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in communications and education.
Celebrating over 30 years of experience in public speaking, public relations campaigns, newsletter curation, writing for the media and fundraising, Dr. Brown has found success in higher education as a teacher and administrator specializing in communication theory and rhetorical criticism. Over the course of his career, he has established himself in various educational and administrative positions at such institutions as Grove City College, Indiana Wesleyan University, Bryan College, Maranatha Christian Schools, Miami University and Pensacola Christian College. Intrigued by the power of language, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Bible religion from Bob Jones University in 1982, a Master of Arts in communication from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1983 and a Doctor of Philosophy in communication from Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1987. Returning to academia, he has maintained his involvement with the summer institute of the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem since 2008. Presently, he works as a freelance author, speaker, editor and advisor to provide communication counsel to several nonprofit and small for-profit organizations.
As an editor and contributor of articles and book reviews to professional publications, Dr. Brown is proud that his two books about interfaith dialogue have received positive accolades from communications, media and evangelical journals. Moreover, he is currently working on a monogram book project which investigates the relationship of fundamentalist Christian institutions of higher learning with their link to religious rites and racial issues. Throughout his career, he has maintained his affiliations with the National Communications Association, the Religious Communications Association, the Noblesville Sunrisers, the Dayton Kiwanis Club and Phi Delta Kappa. For his achievements in the field, he is honored to have been a recipient of the Apex Awards for Communication Concepts and Publication Excellence in 1991 and 2010 respectively. Additionally, he is recognized as a fellow of the Institute on the Holocaust and Jewish Civilization at Northwestern University.
