Peter F. Butler Jr., Independent Music Professional, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Lewis and Clark College in 1961. He served as a choral music director for various high schools, and has shared his expertise as an independent music professional in South Lebanon, Oregon, since 1995. In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Butler has traveled for various singing competitions and contests throughout the continental U.S. and Hawaii.

Following his higher education, Mr. Butler served in the United States Air Force in the 724th Air Force Band from 1961 to 1965. He has been recognized as Linn County Veteran of the Year by the Linn County Veterans Commemoration Association in 2020, and was the recipient of Saint Olaf’s Medal, bestowed by King Harald of Norway on behalf of the Pacific Coast Norwegian Singers Association. Mr. Butler is also a member of the aforementioned association.

Born in Seattle, Washington, Mr. Butler was married to his loving wife, Anna Marie, for 58 years before her passing. Throughout the years, the couple sang together on many occasions. In addition to his career as a choral music director and independent music professional, Mr. Butler has been active in multiple community choruses and church choirs.
