Dr. Carolyn Duncan Cecil, DMin, Founder and Author at Carolyn Cecil Ministries, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in ministry and education.

Growing up in small-town America, Dr. Cecil gained a strong sense of right and wrong, which has guided her throughout her professional career in education and ministry. Over the past 30 years, she has collected, condensed and expounded upon bits and pieces of truth from the Bible, church sermons, books, workshops, the media and experiences. After decades of research, writing, editing and presenting, Dr. Cecil created a 42-lesson curriculum called “Equipped: Equipping and Empowerment for Christians and Lay Ministers.” Through Carolyn Cecil Ministries, she has exhibited the work of the Lord in various mediums, gaining her a vast audience within the church and beyond.

Dr. Cecil earned a Bachelor of Science in history and social science with minors in English, sociology and world geography from Madison College, now known as James Madison University, in 1968. She commenced her career with the Roanoke County Schools, where she taught world geography for 27 years until 2005 and was a substitute teacher from 2005 to 2010. Notably, at the age of 73, Dr. Cecil obtained a Doctor of Ministry from Kingsbury Bible College in 2019, which she cites as the fulfillment of her lifelong work. She is also certified by Dr. Ed Smith in theophostic healing power and by Francis and Judith MacNutt at the School of Healing Power.

The source of all of Dr. Cecil’s work is the Lord and His empowerment, to whom she also attributes her success. With this sentiment, she is also the author of several children’s books, including, “Simple Holiday Pleasures,” “Holy Spirit at Work,” “Holy Spirit at Work…Children’s Versions,” “Our Good Earth,” “Smells to Treasure,” “Angels at Work” and “Life on Earth…What a Journey!” Dr. Cecil has also conducted numerous mission trips to places such as the Czech Republic, Zambia, Mexico, Israel, Egypt and Romania. In 2014, she was the featured speaker at a women’s conference in Haiti and spoke to one audience of more than 1,500 people. Looking ahead, Dr. Cecil aims to continue living by her mission, as well as serving as a member of the board of directors with Kingsbury Bible College and a member of Holy Spirit International Ministries Inc.
