Adjacent to her primary career endeavors, Dr. Edwards-Bennett has served on a variety of committees, including the South Cancer Control Advisory Committee and the membership committee of the American College of Radiation Oncology. Furthermore, she is the co-chair of the breast cancer committee and the chairperson of the lung cancer committee. In a career suffused with highlights, Dr. Edwards-Bennett is most proud to have featured in various news stories through a number of high-profile TV networks, including NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX.
Dr. Edwards-Bennett first sought a formal education at the University of the West Indies, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in bioorganic chemistry. Following this accomplishment, she obtained a Doctor of Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University and a Doctor of Philosophy at Georgia State University. To commemorate her bountiful accomplishments, Dr. Edwards-Bennett has also received numerous accolades, including two Tampa Doctors Awards in 2020 and 2021, recognition as the Best in Medicine by the American Health Council in 2020, as one of the Leading Physicians of the World, an Oxford Who’s Who ELITE Award in Medicine in 2019 and acknowledgment among the Top Doctors in Radiation Oncology in Florida and South Carolina since 2015.
