Across the world, Ms. Herrera has inspired countless generations of young minds. As the elementary lead guide at Guidepost Montessori, she is responsible for teaching all subjects to first through sixth students in mixed-aged classrooms. Additionally, she has found success with Higher Ground, an organization dedicated to mainstreaming and modernizing Montessori education. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kean University in 2002 and a Master of Education in private school administration, curriculum and instruction from Calvary Chapel University in 2015. She holds an AMI Montessori Adolescent Orientation Certification, a Pennsylvania Private School Teaching Certification and both the Teacher Coordinator and Adult Bureau Leadership Certifications from Montessori Model United Nations.

In addition to her positions at Guidepost Montessori, Ms. Herrera has established herself as a consultant for Teens, Inc., at which she facilitates service trips abroad. Her charity work has taken her across the Northern Hemisphere, including Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. For her contributions to the field, she is a recipient of the Top 100 Leaders Education Award from the Global Forum for Education and Learning, the Edward J. Bloustein Award and the Ford Motor Company Spirit Award. Additionally, she is honored to have been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in America in 2020. Going forward, Ms. Herrera seeks to expand the Montessori Farm School Program, as she asserts that it offers a holistic approach to education and wellness while providing animal therapy to those suffering from anxiety.
