Dr. Ardyth Foster, Associate Professor of Education at Truett McConnell University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mathematics education.

Passionate about mathematics since her days in grade school, Dr. Foster’s choice of profession came quite naturally to her. She received a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and management from the Herbert G. Lehman College in New York in 1980, a degree in mathematics education from St. Xavier University in 1998 and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2012. In her youth, Dr. Foster made the decision that whatever field she pursued she wanted to achieve the highest degree possible. As a result of that, she had the opportunity to conduct excellent research and subsequently win awards for her dissertation. Presently, and since 2017, Dr. Foster is an associate professor at Truett McConnell University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses in mathematics education, science education, curriculum and pedagogy in multicultural education and educational research. From 2017 to 2019, she served as Master’s Program Coordinator to the institution.

Dr. Foster commenced her career as a mathematics and science teacher with the Ancona School from 1998 to 2003. Moving on to teach at the collegiate level, she was a research assistant within the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2007. Dr. Foster then spent two years as a mathematics teacher at the Providence Christian Academy and seven years as an assistant professor at Armstrong Atlantic State University. She is a member of the American Educational Research Association, Association for Professional Development, Research Council for Mathematical Learning, North American Chapter of the International Group on Mathematical Association and Sigma Beta Alpha. Looking ahead in her career, Dr. Foster sees herself conducting more online instruction and additional focus to her and her siblings’ organization, which gives scholarships to students studying mathematics or music.
