Margaret Susan Walters, Independent Information Technology Manager, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in IT management.
For more than two decades, Ms. Walters has been a leader in information technology and IT infrastructure management. Her interest in technology began after a high school typing class led her to explore computers and computer science, and she credits her typing teacher with providing her the initial support and inspiration to follow her passion. Ms. Walters completed a Doctor of Divinity at Southwest University in 1984 and has continued to expand her knowledge of digital communications and information management platforms throughout her career. An expert in Facebook, social media management and teleconferencing with Zoom, Ms. Walters considers the constant opportunities for learning and professional development that IT affords her to be the highlight of her career.
Ms. Walters’ work has involved IT management roles in accounting and bookkeeping firms across the American South, and she hopes to launch her own business in the coming years. She attributes her success to hard work, devotion, and dedication to her job, and brings the same passion to her involvement in the community. An active volunteer at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and a donor to several charities, Ms. Walters is also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Society of the Little Flower Miraculous Medal. A lifelong athlete, Ms. Walters has won awards for tennis, alpine downhill skiing, and various collegiate athletics, and remains active, enjoying Zumba and walks with her dog.
