Macarena Studebaker, an English Language Arts Teacher at Piqua City Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in English education.

Joining Piqua City Schools in Piqua, Ohio, in 2013, Ms. Studebaker currently excels as a fifth grade English language arts teacher, as well as a seventh grade volleyball coach. In her educational role, she works closely with students on individualized academic plans. Ms. Studebaker notably draws upon a Bachelor of Education in middle childhood education from Shawnee State University and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Capella University, which she obtained in 2013 and 2016, respectively.

When she was only eight years old, Ms. Studebaker immigrated to the United States from Mexico with little knowledge of the English language. As she grew older, her community helped her learn English and excel in her academic studies, thus establishing the foundation of her career goal in becoming an educator herself. Notably, during her third year as a resident educator, she scored highly on the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA), thus qualifying her as a “Top 100” third year educator in the State of Ohio. As such, she was subsequently appointed as a member of the resident educator stakeholder committee. As a testament to her success, Ms. Studebaker was recognized as the Teacher of the Year for the 2020 to 2021 academic school year. Looking toward the future, she intends to advance to the rank of a college professor in education.
