Edwin S. W. Young, Adjunct Professor at the University of Hawaii, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of auditing.

Having retired from his profession after more than four decades in government service as an auditor, analyst and member of the Foreign Service, Mr. Young has since distinguished himself as an adjunct professor at the University of Hawaii, where he has taught courses on public administration and policy since 2019. Likewise active as an advisory board member for the university’s School of Accountancy, he previously worked as the city auditor for the city and county of Honolulu, and had worked extensively with the U.S. Navy and government in various positions between 1976 and 2000. Moreover, Mr. Young found success as a member of several nonprofit organizations, such as the World Affairs Council, the East-West Center and the Asian-American Foundation of Phoenix.

Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Young studied at the University of Hawaii, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1966. Following this accomplishment, he went on to receive a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah and a Master of Science from the University of Southern California. Though his vocational path has been filled with many standout moments, Mr. Young was especially proud to serve his country in Washington, D.C., as a member of the Foreign Service. For his performance in this capacity, as well as in auditing and through the U.S. military, he has been the recipient of numerous accolades. Among them, Mr. Young was bestowed with various certificates of recognition by the Honolulu City Council in 2013, 2016 and 2019, and was bestowed with the Distinguished Local Government Leaders Award by the Association of Government Accountants in 2016, three U.S. Naval Audit Service Awards, three U.S. Air Force Awards and other recognitions.
