Jennifer A. Ingold, Social Studies Teacher at Bay Shore Middle School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social studies education.
Upon graduating from Elmira College with a Bachelor of Arts in social studies in 1994, Ms. Ingold later attained a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies in reading and English from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2001. For more than two decades, since 1999, she has flourished as a middle school social studies teacher at Bay Shore Middle School in Bay Shore, New York. Likewise, she is the founding patron of the Jerilyn Ingold Young Professional Memorial Scholarship, which is given annually to a graduating senior in the West Islip School District who plans to pursue a career in business or business education. Ms. Ingold also presently serves in a leadership position with the New York State Council for the Social Studies Tech Committee, as she aims to continue teaching, writing and attending conferences as her career progresses.
Finding great success in her career, Ms. Ingold was honored as the Cohen-Jordan Secondary Social Studies Teacher of the Year by the Middle States Council for the Social Studies in 2019. Having been named Teacher of the Year on numerous occasions between 2016 and 2019, she was also recognized as a C3 Teachers Lead Teacher Expert Blogger in 2018. Ms. Ingold attributes her success to her intrinsic motivation and passion for challenge, as she has also contributed to various written works and publications. To remain aware of developments in her field, she holds membership with the Bay Shore Classroom Teachers Association, Long Island Council and Middle State Council for the Social Studies, as well as the New York State Council and National Council of the Social Studies.
