Maudie C. Foster, Adjunct Professor at DeVry University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in project management.

Matriculating at Rutgers University, Ms. Foster earned a Bachelor of Arts in business, management, marketing and related support services in 1974 and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Graduate School of Management in 1977. The beginning of Ms. Foster’s career consisted of serving as the executive director of economic development to an incubator’s small business, as well as a program and project manager in the defense industry. She had also been a substitute teacher at A Plus High School.

Ms. Foster began teaching in 1984, having been an adjunct professor of the business and writing program at Mountain View Community College in Texas until 1995. Between 1995 and 1999, she had also been an adjunct professor at Pennsylvania State University in York, Pennsylvania, Trinity College in Washington, D.C. and National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois. Most recently, Ms. Foster taught as an adjunct professor of project management with DeVry University until retiring in 2008. In her roles, she taught students the concepts of project and program management and the costs and scheduling for contracts from the federal government.

Finding great success in her career, Ms. Foster was named Professional of the Year by the Project Management Industry in 2010. She attributes her success to being rough in the business world, along with remaining focused and combatting obstacles. Her greatest goal has been to watch her family attain their own college degrees. To add to her feats, Ms. Foster also holds a certification in economic development from the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute and a certification in project management from the Defense System Management College of Virginia. She recalls her volunteer work with S.C.O.R.E. in teaching seminars and consulting based on developing small businesses as a career highlight.
