After beginning her work in religious education, she studied extensively at the Northwest Christian College, from which she earned a Doctor of Divinity in 1970. In accounting for her standout success, she credits her boundless empathy, the love and support of her friends and family, and her deep and abiding adherence to her Christian faith. Outside of her vocational circles, Dr. Hoffman enjoys such diversions as stamp collecting and her work with the Order of the Eastern Star.
