Lucille Helen Haab, Kindergarten and Mentor Teacher at Evergreen School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary education and theater arts.
Desiring to be a teacher throughout her upbringing, Ms. Haab achieved her dream while also finding her niche in theater arts. After graduating from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in 1961, she went on to matriculate at the California State University, San Jose, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts in 1966 and a Master of Arts in 1992. Today, Ms. Haab is certified as a kindergarten/primary teacher and general elementary teacher in the state of California. She flourished as a kindergarten teacher at Evergreen School District in San Jose for nearly 40 years until 2004, having been named Teacher of the Year on numerous occasions. She continues to contribute to the school district today as a mentor teacher.
Alongside her primary role, Ms. Haab remained a dedicated member of the theater community, having become a founding member of the San Jose Musical Theater in 2013. Likewise, she has been a member of the Saratoga Drama Group and South Bay Musical Theater between 1974 and 2013. Earlier, Ms. Haab dedicated her time to serving as a lecturer at conventions for the Bureau of Education and Research in Bellevue, Washington from 1989 to 1995, as well as in San Jose in 1995. In addition, she is the author of “The Developmentally Appropriate Classroom: A Children’s Garden” and “Art Activities to Grow On,” both from 1990. To attest to her legacy, Ms. Haab is also listed in the seventh and eighth editions of Who’s Who in American Education and the 20th and 24th editions of Who’s Who of American Women.
