Katherine Cooper Rogers, Professor of Nursing at Blinn College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in emergency nursing.

Backed by nearly 55 years of experience in nursing, Ms. Rogers has excelled in offering her expertise as a professor of nursing at Blinn College since 2012. Prior, between 2002 and 2012, she served in various director roles related to emergency services and safety at the Community Memorial Health Center, Eastern Aleutian Tribes, Palestine Regional Medical Center, ETMC-Jacksonville and Thorstenson Ambulatory Surgery Center. She had also been a nursing consultant, emergency room nurse and laboratory manager at the Thorstenson Eye Clinic, Kingwood Pla. Hospital, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and East Texas Medical Center between 1978 and 1992. In the earlier years of her career, Ms. Rogers was a physician’s assistant and laboratory supervisor at Newborn Memorial Hospital and a pharmacology-toxicology researcher at Ohio State University and the University of Texas Medical Branch.

A member of the Emergency Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau, Ms. Rogers was inspired to become a nurse from watching numerous family members not receive proper nursing care. Dedicated to making a difference in the lives of her patients, she was the recipient of a 25-Year Award as a certified emergency nurse. Ms. Rogers received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stephen F. Austin University in 1989, a Master of Arts in management from Regent University in 1995 and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2005. In the 1990s, she became a certified emergency nurse, trauma nurse and emergency pediatric nurse. To attest to her legacy, Ms. Rogers can also be found in editions of Who’s Who Among Human Services Professionals, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Nursing, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Who’s Who of American Women.
