Matriculating at Ball State University, Ms. Smith earned an Associate of Arts in arts and humanities in 1998 and a Bachelor of Science in elementary education in 2005. Taking on many feats, she a teaching tutor for K-10 with Educational Tutorial Services and a substitute teacher with EDUStaff, LLC since 2018, as well as an educational advocate through Time to Teach Inc. since 2020. Alongside her educational roles, she has also been an insurance agent for United Healthcare since 2017. Ms. Smith attributes her professional success to her marketing skills, honesty and integrity. Notably, she was the recipient of a Premiere Gold Agent Award and Student Commemoration Award, which she notes as the highlight of her career.
Prior to her current roles, Ms. Smith was a temporary English teacher with the MDS Wabash County School District in 2020 and a teaching tutor at Purdue University from 2018 to 2020. Between 2014 and 2017, she was a substitute teacher at Kokomo Special Education Coop and Kelly Educational Staffing, an activity director at Aperion Care and a program assistant and substitute teacher with AYS Inc. In the earlier years of her career, in 2013, Ms. Smith was an after school teacher at Learning Corner and Crossroads Community Church, as well as a direct support professional mentor. Presently, she holds membership with the Delta Sigma Pi Epsilon Fraternity, of which she served as president of her local chapter from 2015 to 2017. Looking ahead, Ms. Smith hopes to experience continued growth and success in her profession, as well as to attain more educational endorsements.
