Growing up in a Christian household, Dr. Charles learned the importance of counseling and leadership at a young age. Now certified in school guidance counseling, ESOL and crisis management, he flourishes as a counselor at Royal Palm Beach Community High School, with which he helps students face challenges and plan their future goals. Prior to this position, he found success as a teacher within the Palm Beach School District for 30 years until 2017, as well as a patient care volunteer to Columbia Hospital from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, he excelled as an ordained minister, assistant pastor and music director for Jog Road Baptist Church from 1993 to 1996 and as a senior pastor at Emanuel Baptist Church. He attributes his vast career success to God and his parents, as they shaped him into the person that he is today. To remain aware of developments in his industry, Dr. Charles has maintained his membership with the Florida Association of Christian Counselors and Therapists, the American Psychiatric Association and the American Counselor Association.

Backed by a wealth of academic experience, Dr. Charles obtained a Bachelor of Arts in religion and communications from Palm Atlantic College in 1987, a Bachelor of Arts in theology and psychology from the Baptist College of Florida in 1992 and a Bachelor of Arts in language arts and French from Florida Atlantic University in 1996. He subsequently earned a Master of Arts in theology from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003, a Master of Arts in Christian counseling from South Florida Theological Seminary in 2007 and a Master of Arts from Trinity International University’s School of Professional Psychology in 2011. In 2014, he notably graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in counseling from Rhema University. Looking ahead in his career, Dr. Charles aims to continue serving as a volunteer pastor for Emanuel Baptist Church while making a difference within his community.
