Bradley S. Hartman, Associate Director at Smithtown Community Band and High School Band Director at South Country Central School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music education and composition.

Hailing from a family of educators, Mr. Hartman harbored a desire to teach in his own right through his passion for music. Having played the piano since the age of four, he later learned to play the trombone and eventually began composing his own music. In 2010, he earned a Bachelor of Music in music education from Long Island University, opening the door to begin his career as an elementary band director and music teacher at Eastport-South Manor Central School District the following year. Remaining in the position until 2017, he has been simultaneously active as an associate director and conductor for the Northwinds Symphonic Band in 2014 and 2015 and obtained a Master of Arts in liberal studies from Stony Brook University in 2014. In addition, Mr. Hartman graduated with a Master of Music in wind conducting from Messiah University in 2017 and served as a middle school band director for the Bay Shore Central School District from 2017 to 2019.

Since 2020, Mr. Hartman has found success as a published composer through T.U.X. People’s Music, in which he composes and arranges musical compositions for symphonic band, brass quintet and solo instrument settings for all levels. Likewise, he has excelled as an associate director for Smithtown Community Band since 2012 and a high school band director at South Country Central School District since 2019. He attributes his professional success to his parents, high school teachers and wife, all of whom helped him become a better musician and teacher. To remain aware of developments in his industry, he maintains affiliation with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the National Association for Music Education, the New York State and Directors Association and the New York State Music Association. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hartman aims to continue teaching and composing, as well as conducting honor bands at the state or county level.
