V. Jacque Voegeli has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in history education.
After graduating from high school, Dr. Voegeli decided to enroll at Murray State College in Murray, Kentucky. During this time, he became increasingly interested in higher education. In 1956, he earned a Bachelor of Science before continuing his education at Tulane University. By 1961, he obtained a master’s degree. Dr. Voegeli eventually graduated from the aforementioned university with a Doctor of Philosophy in 1965.
Dr. Voegeli began his career as a teacher in 1963 when he was appointed as a history instructor at Tulane University. Between 1967 and 1998, he found success at Vanderbilt University as an assistant professor of history, an associate professor of history and a professor of history. Garnering a shining reputation at the aforementioned university, he further flourished as the chairman of the history department between 1973 and 1976 and the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 1976 to 1998. Since 1998, Dr. Voegeli has held the titles of professor emeritus and dean emeritus. Outside of his primary ventures, he is additionally active as a published author. As a testament to his numerous professional successes, Dr. Voegeli is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the South and Southwest.
