Jules Heyman PhD, Professor at Touro College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychology education.

Dr. Heyman desired to spearhead a career in psychology in order to learn more about his own ADHD, as well as help other people navigate complex areas of their behavior and minds. Notably, he earned a Bachelor of Science from Queens College, a Master of Science from the City College of New York and a Doctor of Philosophy from New York University. Utilizing his educational background, Dr. Heyman has excelled as a professor at Touro College since 1989. Simultaneously, he had been an adjunct professor at Mercy College from 1979 to 2006, as well as a general science teacher at a junior high school from 1958 to 1989. In addition to these positions, he also taught at Wagner College and Queens College, having also been a school psychologist and psychotherapist. Dr. Heyman also served as a veteran’s counselor for the New York State Division of Personnel and as a residential counselor for the Jewish Board of Guardians.

Congruent to his endeavors, Dr. Heyman received extensive training in psychology in biofeedback and hypnosis from the Institute for Disaster Mental Health and the American Red Cross. Additionally, he is certified in hypnosis, school psychology, psychotherapy and mental health counseling. Alongside his prowess for workshops, Touro College and the New York City College of Technology have awarded Dr. Heyman as an Outstanding Professor. Presently, he maintains affiliation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, American Psychological Association, American Educational Researchers Association, International Psychological Historical Society and Eastern Psychological Association. In five years’ time, Dr. Heyman would like to write a book about his experience as a psychotherapist alongside his associate, Leo Steorozium.
