Conley S. Worsham, Professor of Political Science at Wayne County Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in political science education.
From 1962 until 1970, Mr. Worsham served in the United States Army. During this time, he worked as an instructor, going on to complete a tour in Vietnam. It was in this role that he discovered a passion for education, deciding to pursue a career in the field after leaving the military. In the subsequent years, Mr. Worsham earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, which was followed by a Master’s degree in public administration from Open University and a Doctorate, all but dissertation, in political science from Wayne State University.
In 1991, Mr. Worsham commenced his career as a professor at Oakland University. Remaining there until 1992, he proceeded to bring his skills to multiple esteemed institutions, including Eastern Michigan University, the University of Michigan and Wayne County Community College. Today, Mr. Worsham continues to work with the latter institution as a professor of political science. He additionally serves as the chair of the textbook committee.
Throughout his career, Mr. Worsham has been abundantly awarded for his skills and expertise. For his military success, he earned multiple honors, including the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Medal. He additionally received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of the City of Detroit for Community Service, as well as the District Award of Merit from the Boy Scouts of America. Reflecting on his accomplishments, Mr. Worsham credits the many mentors with whom he surrounded himself on his journey to success. These individuals continue to encourage him today. His motto is, “Treat others how you wish to be treated.”
