Jane K. Winston, Secondary Education Educator and Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art education.
Ms. Winston decided to become a teacher when she was in high school. After graduating, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in education from the University of Nebraska, building off the earlier coursework she had completed at Midland Lutheran College. In 1969, she commenced her career as an art teacher at Beveridge Junior High in Omaha, Nebraska. Remaining in this role until 1973, Ms. Winston relocated to Idaho Falls High School in 1975. By 1987, she had brought her skills to Skyline High School, where she excelled until 2010.
A well-respected member of her field, Ms. Winston’s accomplishments were recognized in 1992 when she became a grantee of the Idaho Falls Education Foundation. Later, in 1996, she was named the Idaho Secondary Art Educator of the Year, which she considers to be the highlight of her career. Throughout her years of success, Ms. Winston has maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations. These include the Idaho Falls Art Guild, the Idaho Art Education Association and the Eagle Rock Art Guild, for which she is a lifetime member. As a further testament to Ms. Winston’s success, she is featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who of American Women.
