Elizabeth Jane Hunsberger, EdD, Retired Educator and Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in design and education.
A graduate of Santa Monica College, Ms. Hunsperger earned an Associate of Arts in design in 1974. Soon thereafter, she briefly studied at the University of California, Los Angeles before receiving a Bachelor of Arts in art history from the University of Delaware in 1978. She went on to conduct postgraduate studies at Rutgers University from 1978 to 1981, further securing a Master of Arts in education from Delaware State College in 1993. Furthermore, Ms. Hunsperger concluded her academic efforts with a Doctor of Education in educational technology from the University of Delaware in 2006.
Early in her career, Ms. Hunsperger served as a designer for several companies including Huntington Mills, Rothschild’s and Cornell University between 1960 and 1967. She then worked as a freelance designer in Malibu, California for nine years. Moreover, she joined the Art & Science Associates in Newark, Delaware as a lecturer and an art design consultant between 1980 and 2001. Most recently, Ms. Hunsperger contributed as an adjunct professor of education at St. Joseph’s University from 2011 until her retirement in 2020. A renowned artist, her work has been featured in the Newark Art Show and the Malibu Art Association Show, in the past. For her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Hunsperger has been the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from the YMCA, as well as an Award of Recognition from Missionhurst in 1972 and 1982. Likewise, she was presented the Governor’s Volunteer of the Year Award from the State of Delaware in 1990. Now retired, Ms. Hunsperger enjoys painting, boating and gardening in her spare time.
