Hoping to make the world a better place, Ms. Ursprung decided to pursue a career in education after graduating from high school. Following her graduation from Sam Houston State University, she attended Lamar University where she earned a Master of Education in 1999. Shortly thereafter, she became a certified elementary teacher, as well as in psychology and special education within the state of Texas. In 1976, Ms. Urspung began her career as an elementary special education teacher in the Aldine Independent School District. In the years that followed, she worked with the Tarkington Independent School District, the Vidor School District and the Hull Dasietta Independent School District.
Prior to her retirement in 2014, Ms. Ursprung excelled as a resource counselor for the Channelview Independent School District. Throughout her career trajectory, she has actively worked with the First Concord Baptist Church alongside her time on the support staff for the Channelview Independent School District. Further, she maintains affiliation with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the American Association of University Women and the American Counseling Association, among other professional organizations. As a testament to her myriad professional achievements, Ms. Ursprung is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who of American Women, and Who’s Who in America.
