Rose Rudnitski, Professor of Education at Mercy College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
Dr. Rudnitski became involved in her profession as she was inspired by the wonderful teachers that she had in her youth, as she was a very good student and they never held her back. A graduate of SUNY Oneonta, she subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts before obtaining a Doctor of Education in curriculum and teaching from Columbia University in 1991. Furthermore, Dr. Rudnitski concluded her academic efforts with a Master of Arts in religious studies from the Saint Joseph Seminary in 2013.
Dr. Rudnitski began her career as a teacher from 1972 to 1992. She later accepted a position at the State University of New York at New Paltz as an associate dean from 1992 to 2011. At the aforementioned university, she advanced through the roles of an interim associate dean and an associate professor until her retirement as a professor emeritus. Moreover, she found success at Pelican University as a dean and professor for five years, before serving in the same role with Mercy College from 2017 until 2019. Dr. Rudnitski currently flourishes as a professor of education with Mercy College.
Dr. Rudnitski’s most notable achievement included publishing a book with a co-author on integrated teaching methods. She was additionally active as the presiding officer of the faculty at the State University of New York at New Paltz during a very controversial time. The women’s study department conducted a conference on women’s sexuality when the board of trustees was very conservative. In the coming years, Dr. Rudnitski hopes to enter a well-deserved retirement.
