Maire Mairead Liberace, Bioethics Educator and Academic Administrator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership.

In 1979, Ms. Liberace earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Communication from Empire State College, going on to acquire a Master of Philosophy from Manhattanville College in 1982. That year, she began her career as a professor of speech, philosophy, and religious studies at Rockland Community College. By 1987, she had taken on the role of coordinator of the life skills program, which provided her with the foundation to become the assistant dean of the college in 1991. Later, from 1994 until 2000, Ms. Liberace excelled as the chair of Health Sciences, proceeding to return to her original position as a professor of philosophy and speech until 2019. Notably, Ms. Liberace was ranked as a SUNY Distinguished Service professor in 2015.

Outside of her educational ventures, Ms. Liberace has excelled in numerous other fields. From 1955 until 1960, she served as an administrator for St. Vincent’s Hospital before becoming a health professional at National Maternity Hospital. From 1968 until 1976, she was the principal at Systems Transition Associates, taking on a role at Barucco Associates for the next five years. Throughout her career, Ms. Liberace has established herself as a renowned author. Her work, “Lament in a Minor Key,” was named the 2018 Book of the Year by the Rockland County Library Association. She additionally wrote “Walking on Water,” and served as an editor to “Life, Career, Educational Planning Manual,” in 1989.

Reflecting on her illustrious career, Ms. Liberace attributes her success to the many students with whom she worked, as she truly cared for all of them. She maintains affiliation with the National Community College Chair Academy, the Irish Nurses Organization, and the American Society of Law, Medicine, and Ethics, among other professional organizations. Currently, Ms. Liberace is involved with the ethics committee at Good Samaritan Hospital, and she is working on another book. Looking toward the future, she hopes to remain successful. In light of her accomplishments, she is featured in the 3rd edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
