Lori Strauss Feldman, Professor of Marketing at Purdue University Northwest, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marketing.
During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Feldman was a political science major and worked with research data surrounding political campaigns, particularly with voter behavior. In the summer between her junior and senior years, she was inspired and encouraged by her professors to pursue marketing. She found it to be a wonderful fit, as it utilized her analytical and statistical skills intertwined with the artistic side of marketing. Dr. Feldman achieved a Bachelor of Arts in 1987, a Master of Business Administration in 1992, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1992, all from the University of Michigan.
Since 2005, Dr. Feldman has served as a professor of marketing at Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, Indiana. Simultaneously, she had also served as associate vice chancellor for academic affairs from 2017 to 2019, associate dean of the College of Business from 2013 to 2017, and department chair of the departments of marketing, human resources, and management from 2005 to 2013. Earlier in her career, Dr. Feldman worked for Purdue University-Calumet as director of the executive MBA program from 1998 to 2013, as well as a visiting assistant, assistant, and associate professor of marketing between 1992 and 2005. From her work, her research interests include analysis of service quality on business performance, touchpoint analysis, marketing for higher education, faculty development, and online education.
Renowned for her years of dedication to teaching, Dr. Feldman was named Student Organization Advisor of the Year by Purdue Northwest for the 2017-2018 school year. Inducted to the Beta Gamma Sigma National Business Honor Society in 1993, she is also a 1990 Albert Haring Symposium Fellow, 1988 and 1989 D. Maynard Phelps Fellow, and 1987 University of Michigan Business School Fellow. Dr. Feldman attributes her success to having occupied a variety of administrative roles, noting herself as an “impact creator.” She recalls founding and serving as the inaugural director of a nationally recognized executive MBA program featured in Fortune Magazine as a career highlight, as well as authoring more than 80 refereed journal articles, book chapters, and presentations.
Presently, Dr. Feldman maintains affiliation with the American Marketing Association, the Southern Marketing Association, the Association of Consumer Research, the Academy of Management, and the Marketing Management Association, of which she was a member of the board of directors from 1995 to 2000. In her free time, she enjoys gourmet cooking, traveling, and running. To attest to her legacy, Dr. Feldman is also featured in the 31st and 33rd edition of Who’s Who In Finance and Industry, the 56th and 57th edition of Who’s Who in America, and the 25th edition of Who’s Who in the Midwest. Additionally, she is in the 22nd edition of Who’s Who of American Women and the 15th, 17th, and 21st editions of Who’s Who in the World.
