Norman L. Zurn, Professor at Salt Lake Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in communications.
Backed by more than 25 years of teaching experience, Mr. Zurn has served as an adjunct communications professor at Salt Lake Community College since 2001. Having also offered his educational expertise to inmates at the Utah State Prison from 2002 to 2011, he serves as the president of Zurn Investments where has dealt with trading cards, real estate, art, foreign currency and more since 2003. In addition, he is a co-owner of Four Seasons Outdoor Resorts since 2013 and a dedicated mentor to a number of students. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Zurn has also been a financial planner for American Express, a co-owner of Enhancing Your Life After 50, a sales manager at Camperworld, president of i2isingles.com and a manager of Marriott Hotels.
Mr. Zurn attended Utah State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in sociology in 1975 and a Master of Science in sociology with minors in communication, business and religion in 1979. Notably, he served with the U.S. Navy for four years and with the U.S. Army Reserves for two years. In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Zurn is the author of “Self Realization, A Journey,” “620 Ways to Wake Up on Your Bucket List,” “The Book of Norman,” “A Free Spirit in Search of Self,” “Mother Nature Whispers,” “Baby Boomer Wisdom,” “A Hole in Our Soul” and “Prison.” Likewise, he is a seasoned public speaker, having given hundreds of motivational talks throughout his life. Looking ahead in his career, Mr. Zurn hopes to never retire, as he enjoys teaching, writing and public speaking. He currently has three more books in the works and hopes to make to more time to volunteer at Utah prisons.
