Professor Heidi Vernon has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.
From 1980 until 2007, Dr. Vernon excelled as a professor at Northeastern University. Building off a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University, the State University of New Jersey, she attended Boston University, where she earned a Master of Arts in 1978. Later, in 1980, she acquired a PhD in American business history, which also came from Boston University. Prior to embarking on her career as an educator, she excelled as the owner of Heidi Wortzel’s Cooking School from 1970 until 1975.
Currently, Dr. Vernon is continuing to educate others as a senior professor at the Prasetiya Mulya Graduate School of Management in Jakarta, Indonesia. Further, she is a board member of the Newton Cultural Alliance and a published author. Some of Dr. Vernon’s most notable works include “Business and Society,” and “Lowell: The Corporations and the City.” Since 1990, she has been a fellow of the Eastern Academy of Management. Likewise, Dr. Vernon maintains affiliation with the Academy of Management and the Academy of International Business.
In her spare time, Dr. Vernon enjoys cooking, practicing photography, gardening, and knitting. She additionally loves to listen to Baroque music and spending time with her family. Dr. Vernon’s daughter and husband work in business, her son is a professor, and her three other children recently acquired Master of Business Administration degrees. As a testament to her success, she is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Women, and Who’s Who in the East.
