Born in the Philippines, Mr. Cabana came to America in 1970 to pursue formal education. However, his plans were interrupted when he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1974. From then until 2008, he advanced through the grades to colonel, serving as a logistics career broadener from 1986 until 1989. During those years, he earned a Master’s in international relations from Troy University and another Masters in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College. Later, in 2012, Mr. Cabana earned a Master of Education in secondary education and teaching from Wayland Baptist University.
Following his retirement from the military, Mr. Cabana began working as a professional trainer at North Lake College and in the Dallas Community College District. In 2009, he opened N C Cabana Logistics LLC, where he continues to serve as the owner today. In 2011, Mr. Cabana ventured into education, becoming a member of the faculty at the Alamo Colleges. Unearthing a passion for the field, he proceeded to take on the opportunities for success as a professor as they came his way. In 2012, he accepted the position of an adjunct associate professor at Webster University, going on to become a member of the faculty staff at Texas A&M University in 2019. Reflecting on his success, Mr. Cabana credits his determination to continue his education, as well as his hard work and ceaseless persistence. In the next five years, Mr. Cabana wants to finish writing his autobiography, which details his life from the time he was born until the present. Further, he would like to travel and see all 50 states, alongside building his relationship with his grandchildren.
