Marty Angelo, Sixth-Grade Teacher at Harriet Gifford Elementary School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Coming from a large family of teachers, Mr. Angelo always knew what he wanted to pursue. In 1992, he began his undergraduate at Elgin Community College, going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Judson College (University). Later, in 2005, he earned a Master’s in administration from Aurora University. Since 2013, Mr. Angelo has excelled as a sixth-grade teacher at Harriet Gifford Elementary School, though he additionally held that position from 1997 until 2005.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Angelo is a Building Technology coach, as well as a member of the school improvement committee. Further, he volunteers at the Willow Creek Community Church and with Habitat for Humanity. As a testament to his success, he earned the Symetra Heroes in the Classroom Award from Symetra/Chicago Bears. Earlier, in 2016, he earned the Top Shelf Teachers Award from the Chicago Black Hawks. Looking toward the future, Mr. Angelo hopes to continue teaching and possibly venture into administration.
