Philo Hutcheson, PhD, Retired Professor at the University of Alabama, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.
Prior to his retirement in 2019, Dr. Hutcheson excelled as a professor at the University of Alabama for numerous decades. He was initially hired as an assistant professor, though he quickly proved his skills and became a department chair and professor in 2012. Throughout his 27 years as a professor, Dr. Hutcheson became affiliated with several organizations to stay aware of changes in his industry. These include, but are not limited to, the History of Education Society, the National History of Education Society and the Association for Study of Higher Education.
In light of his myriad accomplishments, Dr. Hutcheson was the 2018 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award for Professional Achievement from Carroll University. Earlier, in 2011, Georgia State University named him as Teacher of the Year. Dr. Hutcheson considers one of his greatest accomplishments to be his experience upon being elected president of the History of Education Society. In the coming years, he hopes to continue publishing new works. Moreover, Dr. Hutcheson would like to venture into restoring homes.
