Judith Sharp Cain, EdD, Mathematics Educator and Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic administration.
From working with her children, Dr. Cain discovered her passion for education. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she a Bachelor of Arts in 1984 and a Master of Education four years later. She returned to the institution in 2010 to earn a Doctor of Education in educational leadership. Prior to beginning her career, Dr. Cain achieved a vast number of certifications, including first through eighth-grade mathematics education, early adolescent education and administration.
In 1999, Dr. Cain broached the education industry as a lead teacher for middle school mathematics with the Lafayette Parish School Board. She continues to excel with the board today, as she has since taken on more responsibility as a presenter of workshops and in-services. Outside of her primary ventures, Dr. Cain works as a teacher leader on the advisory committee for the Louisiana Department of Education. Further, she is active with the University of Louisiana L. Lafayette Parish School System as the evangelical parish Louisiana liaison and participant. Additionally, Dr. Cain has also found success as an author. In 2002, her work, “An Evaluation of the Connected Math Project” was published in the Journal of Educational Research.
As a testament to her success, Dr. Cain was named as a Woman of Achievement in 2007. Earlier, the Lafayette Parish School System recognized her as Teacher of the Year in 2000. In both 1993 and 1994, the Diocese of Lafayette recognized her for her work as an Outstanding Teacher. In order to remain aware of changes in her field, Dr. Cain maintains affiliation with a multitude of professional organizations. These include, but are not limited to, the National Education Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the Labor and Employment Relations Association. In light of her professional accomplishments, Dr. Cain is also featured in various editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
