Judith Ann Chalmers, Retired Teacher at Oklahoma Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary education.
Inspired by her first-grade teacher, Ms. Chalmers sought to pursue a career in education from a young age. Backed by a Bachelor of Science in special education from the University of Northern Colorado, she earned a Master’s in elementary education from the University of Central Oklahoma before embarking on her journey to professional success. Ms. Chalmers began her career as a teacher within the Oklahoma Public Schools. For 36 years, she excelled as a first-grade teacher. She was lucky to be able to bring her skills to Panama and Japan, which was an exciting experience to see the world and continue teaching. Throughout her career, she perfected her ability to put the needs of her students first, which she believes to have been the key to her success. Ms. Chalmers always prioritized letting them know she cared about not only their education but also their self-esteem. In 2015, she retired after an illustrious and respectable career.
Looking back on her achievements, Ms. Chalmers credits her parents with unearthing her hard-working and driven nature. They taught her to always complete tasks to the best of her ability, as well as to always put her heart into her work. A member of the National Board of Certified Teachers, Ms. Chalmers is quite proud to have been inducted into the prestigious organization. She additionally maintains affiliation with the National Educators Association. Though she misses her time in the classroom, Ms. Chalmers is enjoying her retirement by gardening, exercising, and volunteering at her local university.
