Kenneth Darrell Berlin, Regents Professor at Oklahoma State University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in chemistry education.

Having accrued more than 60 years of inimitable experience in education, Dr. Berlin has notably served as a Regents professor at the Oklahoma State University, Stillwater since 1971. From 1960 to 1963, he worked for the university as an assistant professor of chemistry, later advancing to the rank of associate professor for three years and full professor from 1966 to 1971. Prior to spearheading his career, Dr. Berlin received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from North Central College in 1955 and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Illinois in 1958. He went on to serve as a post-doctoral fellow to the University of Florida from 1958 to 1960. Doubling as a consultant, over the years, Dr. Berlin has offered his expertise to the American Heart Association, E.I. DuPont Co., National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation and Arizona Disease Control Commission.

A distinguished fellow of the American Chemical Society and National Academy of Inventors, Dr. Berlin holds 27 patents and has received various accolades for his revolutionary research in chemistry. Named Oklahoma Chemist of the Year in 1977 and Oklahoma Academy of Science Scientist of the Year in 1976, Dr. Berlin was honored as the first Regents professor at the Oklahoma State University. In 2013, Dr. Berlin was notably named to the list of the Top 20 Scientists and Engineers in Oklahoma. Additionally, he has taken home an Outstanding Professor Award, International Golden Torch Award, Regents Distinguished Research and Teaching Awards and an Oklahoma Medallion, among others. A contributor to professional research journals and educational symposia, Dr. Berlin is most proud of his countless students who have achieved Master’s and Doctorate degrees. To attest to his legacy, Dr. Berlin is listed in various editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Who’s Who in the World.
