Florence Smith, Educational Assistant at Murfreesboro City Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in educational administration.
A graduate of Tribeca Nazarene College, Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1980. At the start of her illustrious career, she was the leader of a Job Training Program for Youths and Adults. Subsequently, she contributed as an in-school suspension coordinator at Cason Lane Academy. Since 1994, Ms. Smith has contributed as a receptionist and community leader of Bradley Academy. Additionally, she has held the title of an educational assistant for Murfreesboro City Schools since 1994.
Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Smith remains a member of the Greater Nashville Regional Council on Aging and Disability Advisory. She also dedicates her time to the Bradley Academy Historical Board of Directors, the BErry Chapel A.M.E. Church, and the William H. Butler Sr. Scholarship Committee. For her accomplishments in the field, she has been the recipient of numerous accolades including a Proclamation from the Murfreesboro City Mayor, a certificate of achievement from the African American Heritage Society of Rutherford County, and the Distinguished Pioneer Award from the JPJ Foundation of Murfreesboro, among others.
Ms. Smith attributes her success to her parents, who always encouraged her to do what she can but also do what she can to help others. In five years, Ms. Smith plans to continue her current engagements and would like to pursue more philanthropic efforts.
