Dr. Stacey Croft, Superintendent at Burlington Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in academic administration.
Growing up in a small, rural community, Dr. Croft always looked up to her teachers. As a result of the positive impact they had on her, she was inspired to pursue a career in education. In 1985, she graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in special education. Shortly thereafter, she began working as a special educator. In 2016, she became the special education assistant principal at Burlington Public Schools. During her time there, she returned to her alma mater and earned a Doctor of Education in school administration. With her newfound qualification and years of experience, Dr. Croft was able to take on the role of superintendent at Burlington Public Schools in 2018.
A member of the Burlington Education Foundation, Dr. Croft was honored as the Teacher of Today and the Teacher of the Year by the Corinthian Lodge. She attributes her success to the way she was brought up, as her parents always encouraged her to dream big and reach her goals. Throughout her illustrious career, she has watched so many children grow exponentially and achieve true greatness, which she considers to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. Looking toward the future, Dr. Croft would like to continue to push, certify and encourage the younger generation of teachers to continue to see the value in the teaching profession.
