Otto D.L. Strack, Science Educator at the University of Minnesota, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in ground water mechanics.
An engineer at heart, Dr. Strack always knew what he wanted to do in his professional career. Upon, spearheading his career, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in ground water from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 1973. During his time there, he fulfilled his research interests by acting as a research associate from 1969 until 1974. In the years since, he has remained in his current position, which is that of a professor of ground water flow and mathematics at the University of Minnesota. Outside of his ventures in the classroom, Dr. Strack has additionally carried out the role of president and owner of Strack Consulting, LLC, where he has demonstrated success since 1987. He attributes much of his success to the never-ending support of his wife, Andrine.
An accomplished author, Dr. Strack has published several textbooks, including “Groundwater Mechanics,” “Analytical Groundwater Mechanics” and “Application of Vector Analysis and Complex Variables for Engineers.” Likewise, he has been a contributor to a myriad of articles in professional journals. In light of his accomplishments, Dr. Strack received the Vreedenburgh Prijs Award from the Royal Dutch Institute of Engineers in 1980, which was followed up by an Outstanding Service Award from the Minnesota Ground Water Association in 2011. As a further testament to his success, Dr. Strack is featured in the 65th, 69th and 70th editions of Who’s Who in America.
